My journey into assessing and supporting children with dyslexia has been deeply influenced by my own family experiences: two of my three children have been diagnosed with the specific learning difficulty dyslexia.
Witnessing their achievements and how receiving the right support enabled them to thrive inspired me to help others in similar situations.
I hold a Level 7 BDA Diploma in Dyslexia in Assessment, Literacy, Support, and Intervention, alongside a current Assessor Practising Certificate.

Tutoring
I offer a tailored approach to learning, designed to meet your child’s individual needs. Your child will follow a cumulative, multisensory programme that addresses their challenges while building on their strengths, helping them gain confidence and make steady, meaningful progress.
Literacy Screening
I provide two levels of literacy assessment to support your child’s learning:
Basic Screening: A quick, friendly session that gives a snapshot of your child’s literacy skills to guide next steps. Using professional tools, I highlight strengths and areas where extra support could help, providing practical advice for home and school. This is not a formal diagnosis, but a valuable first step in understanding your child’s learning.
In-Depth Screening: A more comprehensive session that explores reading, spelling, and related skills in detail. This assessment is tailored to your child’s learning needs and provides a thorough understanding of their strengths and areas for development, along with practical recommendations for home and school. This is also not a formal diagnosis, but it gives a clearer picture of your child’s learning profile to guide support.
Next Steps: If the screening suggests your child may have dyslexia, a full diagnostic assessment can be arranged. Please note that standardised tests generally require 3–6 months between sessions to provide the most accurate results, so there may be a short wait before a follow-up assessment
Assessment
I offer a full literacy assessment for children aged 8–16 years old to identify specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia. Using a range of standardised tests, I assess reading, spelling, and related skills to highlight both strengths and areas where support is needed. You will receive a detailed report with practical recommendations for home and school, giving a comprehensive understanding of your child’s learning profile and guiding the most effective support strategies.

Yes, I hold a current Assessor's Practising Certificate ( 24/APC03054).
Before the assessment can take place, I will need to collect background information from both home and school. Once this information has been received, the assessment can proceed.
A typical assessment can take between 3 -4 hours.
During this time, the child will have frequent breaks and will be encouraged to bring a drink and a snack for their refreshment.
